Knoxd

Beginning today Knox'd has a renewed focus on the content it aggregates. It will now focus more on Web sites and blogs that contain information specific to Knoxville or the surrounding region.

Because of this several feeds were deleted from the database. This was not an affront to the content contained on those sites, rather we felt that they weren't serving the mission of the site.

Anyone can make a feed aggregator, but we wanted to make Knox'd a place that serves users the best content Knoxville has to offer.

If your feed was one of those removed, you may contact Casey or I using the contact form to request it be reconsidered for inclusion on Knox'd.

Here are the new criteria for content on this site:

• Content specific to Knoxville or the surrounding region: Not every entry or story needs to be Knoxville-specific, but you do need to publish something local every now and then.
• Less emphasis on "diary" style content: We're looking for focused content instead of the usual blog fare. This includes topics such as those found on Honey Dot Comb and The Sunsphere is not a wigshop.
• More frequent publishing cycles: Blogs are tough to keep fed and watered. I struggle with this personally. But we expect fresh content to be published at least once a week or so.
